I rushed there together with everyone, in the sea of people flocking from all directions.
Gathering, streaming, flowing through the streets of old Williamsburg.
There we all stood in the freeze of the night crowded at the center of the neighborhood.
We stood there in deep pain, heart shaken and shattered, but as brothers, together, united.
We all wept and sobbed.
We shed tears together, as one big family.
He was one of us!
A heartwarming brother, a close relative, an affectionate friend, a caring neighbor, a faithful teammate or one of the hundreds of casual acquaintances who happened to come across this special personality in one way or another.

Then I saw an image.
An image that spoke volumes, and told a whole new story.
It’s an image of a young handsome boy standing tall and steady, devoted with all of his essence to a frail friend.
And you cannot miss those eyes.
Bursting with his father’s enthusiasm and determination, sparkling wit, and energetic ambition.
Eyes that so vividly reflect his mother’s compassion and kindness, radiating oceans of infinite empathy, and waves of boundless love.
Standing there to support.
To teach. 2
To encourage.
To comfort and care.
To help him connect to the inner depth of his soul.

No. He was not one of us.
He was way ahead of us, and so distantly above us.
While many of us were busy with their own lives. Supporting their own families. Securing their own future and pursuing their own passions, here stood a boy selflessly and bravely building the life of others.
Quenching yearning souls. Rekindling extinguished candles.
Reviving lives and injecting joy, he built himself an essence that’s solid and eternal.
One that no amount of bullets can penetrate and no force can destroy.
It’s a being that violence cannot harm and the harshest of evil cannot conquer.

Moishy!
You will remain a source of inspiration long after the tears will dry.
You will continue spreading love and kindness incessantly, and help us overcome and rise above the mundane.
Your brightness will illuminate for eternity.
Your light will forever shine.
Your flame will forever burn.
