Mesh Gelmansenior vice president, Retail Lobby, Merchandise and Brand Partnerships
Mesh Gelman, senior vice president, retail lobby, merchandise and brand partnerships, is responsible for the business and the future of the customer experience in front of the bar in Starbucks retail stores. This includes at home coffee and tea, merchandise, and packaged food categories, management of brand partnerships, and reimagining the customer experience for the space called “the lobby” for future innovation.
As an entrepreneur, Mesh recognizes entrepreneurial passion is the secret ingredient for compelling products and experiences, and applies that experience to creating forward thinking programs and products. In the third party brand space, Mesh and his team explore neighborhoods around the world for authentic brands with great stories that are making relevant, high quality products.
Prior to joining Starbucks in 2014, Mesh created retail consulting firm Extreme Rep, where he honed his talent for helping entrepreneurs sharpen their approach, identify prospective customers and thoughtfully scale to realize their goals. Mesh also co-founded Extreme Linen, a home fashions company. While there, he led two social projects - Choose Haiti and Blanket America - which brought charity and business together. Mesh’s work furthered the "buy-one, give-one" retail strategy, with a donation from each purchase being made to help eliminate poverty and drive change.
Mesh has a B.A. in Talmudic Law from Yeshivas Mir and spent four years studying abroad. He lives with his family in New Jersey and explores new businesses and innovative thinking while drinking his standard grande soy cappuccino with an extra shot.
